Nothing's gonna change my world.....

So, I'm planning on seeing Across the Universe, since it's the premier of the movie in Sweden on friday (Yay!) and I just thought I'd ask you guys what you thought of it. Has anyone seen it?

We got a new flat screen tv a couple of days ago and the first thing I did (well, after we finally managed to start the damn thing) was to watch A Hard Day's Night. I've been home sick for a while, but at least now I have something to occupy my self with. Like watching a life-sized Paul Mccartney on Tv.

I quite like being sick.

I quite like it. =)

Just don't expect most of the covers to do a lot of justice to the originals, and I think you'll like it.

Across the Universe, eh ... I liked it, but I still have mixed feelings about it. Some of the cover songs sucked, but on the other hand there were a couple of others that were really good. There was not a lot of character development and it was hard to really feel for them because of that, and it seemed like they were trying to fit an entire decade of events into a two hour movie, and with an era like the Sixties, it's just really difficult to do that and I wasn't really impressed with the effort they put into that -- or lack thereof. And there were a lot of plot holes -- a little bit of acid sustaining them on a 2,000 mile trip? No. However, there was a lot of symbolism in the movie that I caught onto and I really liked.

So, while it's not the best movie I've ever seen, it's not awful, either. If anything, go for the symbolism and to swoon over Jim Sturgess, lol. But there's my two cents. That flat screen TV sounds really nice. We got one back in October, but I still haven't watched any Beatles movies on it yet, lol. I want to though so I should get on that. I hope you feel better. :) /ramble

I just realized I worded one of those sentences kind of awkwardly, lol. Let me rephrase that: it seemed like they were trying too hard to fit an entire decade of events into a two-hour movie. There, lol. And as an aside, I was only mildly impressed with how they handled the Vietnam War. Being as interested as I am in that, I think they could have done it more justice.

Oh, another upside is the random Beatles facts thrown in throughout the film. They're not exactly obsure, but if you're not really a Beatles fan, you probably wouldn't catch them. But they're fun. :)

I liked AtU but I felt like I had been on a trip after I saw it. lol. Of course considering it was like 11:00pm...

You'll either love it or hate it but if you don't take it too seriously you'll find it pretty awesome. :)

Life size AHDN sounds like the best-ever.
Wish I had that when I was sick last week. lol.
